There's this odd ball-like thing in my engine bay with a wire running to it from the engine. It's a 1991 S-10 with a 2.8 and I just bought it.The ball think ison thedriver'sside on the bottom of the engine bay
This picture isn't of my engine bay, but there's the same thing on the passenger's side, behind the battery. What is it?

 

hi 74camarodriver, so you have big ***** under the hoodto. lmao. if you have cruse control its part of the vaccume, thehose runs from there beside the trans tube then it splits off to the tbi unit andcarrys over to the cruse con modual, hope this helps

It does not have cruise control, but it does have a similar Ball (attached to the hood/drivers side)

 

i have an 89 with cruse and have traced the mystery ball. i have not seen one attached to the hood cool pick. i never paid attention to it before the new posting. now im currieus to what else it could be.

There's no way it could be a vacuum. It has one electrical wire running to it from the back of the engine. I think it's some sort of sensor, but I have no idea what kind.
