Default S10 ball joint removal-can it be done?

2000 S10 LS 4x4...need to replace a lower ball joint.......at LEAST they've been replaced before me, so wont have to deal w/the OEM rivets.....all my video searches for how-to's show needing to remove wheel bearing from the axle to get enough "sloppage" room to remove n' replace 'em..I can get the axle nut loose and off, BUT really dont wanna dick w/those PITA wheel bearing-to-hub bolts to remove the bearing assy...can a fella shortcut n' do a ball joint job W/O taking wheel bearing OFF the axle?...can enough "sloppage" on the control arm be achieved to get a ball joint in and out??..if so, what is correct procedure order of removal of the various items on the control arm-I.E. brake caliper 1st, tie rod end 2nd, upper Jt 3rd, etc?.....thanx

Default

k...came across a great 2 part vid that shows that altho yes, the bearing needs to come off the axle shaft to give enough room, it can come off as a unit-no need to remove those 3 PITA bearing bolts..consider thread resolved
