00 ZR2 Alarm going off intermittently
Hello from Ohio
I have a 2000 s10 ZR2 83000 actual miles. Great truck...Pulls like a mule in low range.
Everything works as it should. Even the third door handle. No Rust
Problem(s)
every now and then, but more frequently recently, the anti lock brake light comes on.
No apparent affect on the braking system just the light. Then next time or 3 it doesn't come on
I just ignore it. I FIGUREd A LOOSE GROUND.
A couple weeks ago Came back from vacation in another vehicle to find a cop at my door
saying my alarm had been going off all weekend for awhile then stopping by itself. ODD
This morning while getting ,an insurance quote, My truck alarm went off at least 5 times
and I had to go out and insert my key in the door to shut it off. in the past I had to start the truck to shut it off.
There have been a few times when I was close to the truck when it has gone off and I just
thought it was from my key being in my pocket.
I do not think I have a panic button on the fob. Unless you have to raise your left foot and hit the unlock button??
I AM THINKING BOTH PROBLEMS ARE CONNECTED...!
OK I am thinking a loose wiring harness? maybe in the main wiring harness to the firewall??
Anybody have same problem and how to remedy it?
Disconnect the alarm?? How?
Regards in advance, Gary
