I gotta get a new signature... that's a pretty major change... I'm loving the hood. I had to modify my latch to get it to go down. The male part of the latch on the hood was made way too low, and left me with two choices. Either I could try to fabricate something, or go with hood pins. Hood pins suck, so I ended up going with fabrication.
I actually took the latch brace off the radiator support, cut it in half horizontally, overlapped it one inch, welded it back, then I made an extension out of 16 gauge sheet metal and bolted that to the top of it to make up for the inch I lost. The latch mounts on this y-shaped brace, so by lowering the brace, I actually lowered the latch.
I then encountered a problem with the release. The hood spring is mounted so that it will sit on the grille shell when it was closed, the grille shell was then too tall. I cut the tab out of the grille with the dremel and while doing so, the cutting wheel on the dremel broke apart, flew under my safety glasses and hit right below my eyebrow, so I have a huge whelp now. At least it wasn't my eye! Now the hood is perfectly level and you can't really even tell that I modified the latch.

Since this is my ongoing thread... I'm gonna try to find a new head unit. I'm thinking a touch screen. Will post pics if I can find one for a decent price.

No. I left the body shop and went right over to my buddy Joey's decal place and we designed it. He runs the decal shop that makes the Chevrolet Forum decals for us.
