Default Blazer ongoing mod thread.

Well, since I got rear-ended on the Blazer I decided to take advantage of the fact that the Blazer is in the body shop. I bought a hood for it (pics below). I'm gonna completely shave the roof rack, bolt holes and all. I'm putting the antenna horizontally inside the fender and covering the hole. I'm also repainting the whole vehicle and getting rid of the signature stripes that have been on there for 2 years. I'm tired of having little scratches everywhere and I'm also tired of not being able to buff anything because my clear coat is too thin.

Here is the hood I bought:

Thanks. I'll keep updating this thread as I go along. I should have the hood put on tomorrow if not tonight. I'll work on the antenna and rack studs tomorrow. Then its on to removing the stripe. I should have it in the body shop ready for paint next week. This depends on the cost though. If they quote me over $3500 to repaint, I'm bailing on that idea and I'll just paint the pieces that need painting.

Update. Not getting the whole vehicle painted. It was a full $1500 more than I wanted to pay.. they actually do take the car apart to paint it and do a hell of a job, but I don't want to pay 75% of what the vehicle is worth for a paint job. If I shave the antenna, it will be a little more than $1200 for everything. $650 of that is the damage to the rear-end from the wreck, so I'm looking at paying $550 out of pocket and I have already paid $450 for my hood.

I could probably get it done cheaper at a different shop, but these guys do unbelievable work and its worth the extra money.

Blazer goes to the body shop in the morning. Hopefully I'll have it back before the weekend. I do have the hood on... it doesn't fit very well though. The fenders are not lining up very well.

Picked it up from the body shop today. When I left, I went over to my buddy Joey's and we worked for about an hour and a half getting decal cut out for the hood.
Daytime pics tomorrow when I get her cleaned up.
