Default 2000 5.3 Vortec

I have a 2000 5.3 Vortec out of a 2000 Chevy Silverado, it is missing the intake and coil packs and all of the wiring. Could anyone provide a list of what is needed to put this motor into a 1986 Chevy Silverado, like maybe the list of all electronics needed and of course the intake and coilpacks.

Thanks.

Well, could you tell me what the big steps in this would be? I dont see any problem in fitting the electronics into the 86 or the airbox and I really just need the list of electronics the motor needs.

I do not know what all you need. I just know I was looking into putting a 5.3 in my son's 96. When I started researching it I was finding there was alot more to do than what I was thinking there was. Someone else myabe able to give you all the answers you need. I researched it on google and went through several differant posts from differant sites.

you will definatly need a brain for the operation... like the stock pcmthat goes with that motoror maybe a stand-alone engine managment system...or if you want to be ancient you can go carborated...edelbrock makes a victor jr. manifold / MSD system that will allow you to run a carborator using the crank, cam, and map sensor.but if you go that way if you have an electronic transmission than you would have to get a stand alone for the tranny... it all depends on how deep you want to go... what i would suggest is go to a junk yard and pull your computer and wiring harnesses and all your electronic needs. pretty much anything off a GM truck/suv that uses a 5.3 is compatible. with this all said do not use this as 100% fact. i have not did the swap so there will be walls that im not seeing off the top of my head.
