I just bought a 2012 and it should be called a Shakerado. Dealer and tech say Oh they all do that. Had a 99 silverado and it rode smooth as a caddy. My last GM purchase ever after 32 years. Thinking of trading on a toyota, but I know I will take a beating on trade in even though less than 1000 miles.

I started this **** with GM and the dealership on the 28th of Nov. one day after I purchased my new 2011 Silverado. Ive had my truck back 9 times Ive delt with GM customer service ( they are as useless as **** on a bull/and do nothing to help at all) But I consider my self lucky to have have had a service manager who gave a **** and has worked on my truck tirelessly and has got my vibration/shake /rattle shimmey whatever GM says I dont have. My truck now is now tolerable to drive after to many sets of tires/ wheels/ brakes/rotors/wheels and now a drive shaft. hflmore you have a long road ahead of you and GM is such a sorry company to work with, they all but told me tough **** we have your money and thats the final resolution. So thats the last CHEVY for me,how a company can treat there loyal customers this way is beyond me but Im done with them.

Default Vibration Issue

I also purchased a 2011 1500 crew cab and have the same vibration issue. recently took it to the dealer and they did find out of balance tires. Once rebalanced, it's not as noticeable, but it's still there. Hopefully Chevy will have a fix soon.

Not a good sign I am in the market. Almost drove home in a 2012 Crew Cab 4x4 2500 yesterday. Hopefully I don't end up with this. I asked my buddy who has a '12 Ext Cab 1500 and he say's there is nothing.

Is this mainly a '11 - 12' thing?

Good luck to you all.

P.s. I'd rather vibrate right out the door at highway speeds than drive a Ford. If you ever see me at a Dodge dealer, shoot me.

Louis, I have not had my truck back to dealership for repairs sinc the trip to Hurricane Chevrolet. I had an appointment scheduled but came down with the flu and had to cancel. I will try again this week. Week of 26th March to schedule. My truck still has the vibration issues and I can't begin to tell you how frustrating it is.

Well, finally got my truck in for the tires wearing the front. The alignment has way out of wack. According to the specs it was like the truck had a ton of weight put on the front of the truck after the alignment has done at the factory or the truck has bad struts or weak front springs. Regardless, the vibration is still there. It's not as bad BUT they rotated the tires since the one's on the front were cupped to crap so the smooth tires are in the front now. But it was the usual, "O, it's the alignment and kicked it out the door". So we will see.

3-29-12

Louis,

Reference: GM Number 71-1039571239

I just returned from Turnpike Chevrolet. I had an appointment scheduled for 1:00 pm today. I arrived early and met with one of the employees at the service department. He took my initial infomation documenting my problems. I also advised him that I wanted to go on the test drive with the mechanic so I could show him what the issues were that I am having with my turck. I waited around for a few minutes and eventually, Keith, from the service department came in. The person I talked to explained to Keith about my vehicle and that I wanted to ride with the mechanic to show him what the issue was and that I had talked with him(Keith) previously setting up my appointment.

Keith began to review my paper work and responded , I didn't remember the name but now that I see the paperwork I see that we replaced tires on your truck in February and then you "TRASHED US" with our survey. Now I will explain a little farther as it pertains to the survey I submitted after having my truck worked on in February.

In February I had my silverado serviced at the Turnpike Service Center for the 3rd time. It was actually my 4th trip but once the electricity went off and they were not able to work on the truck. However, they did take it for a test drive before the power went off. The mechanic advised he did not detect anything but would be glad to rebalance my wheels or do what ever it takes to help with getting my truck fixed. I then agreed to re-schedule for service.

Please keep in mind that that the time previous to this service, Turnpike replace 3 tires on my truck in order to get the vibration problems to stop. However, the vibration issues continued.

On my next visit to Turnpike, they replaced all four tires on my truck, however the vibration issues still remain. A day or two after my service, Kathy from the service department called me to see how the truck was doing. I advised her that I had not driven the truck on the interstate yet but that it was riding really rough at low speeds.

Shortly after that service and call from Kathy I did drive my truck on the interstate and the vibration issues continued.

A day or so later I received a Maintence Survey from GM. I completed the survey indicating that I was in no way complaining about the Service Department at Turnpike because I felt they were working to solve the vibration issues. I did however mark some things negatively because my vibration issues remain. The prupose of this was to let GM know that this model truck has a vibration issue not that the Service Department was doing anything wrong.

About a week or so after completing the survey, I received a phone call from Kathy, it was obvious she was upset and she confronted me over the phone about filling out the survey with negative remarks. I explained to her that it was not my intentions to , as Keith put it earlier today "TRASH" the service department and that I had indicated in the survey comments section that I was satisfied with the efforts of the Turnpike Service Department however the vibration issues still remained. She advised that she drove the truck and that it drove like a truck she could not detect any vibrations when she drove it, after it the tires were replaced. I again advised her that I still had the issues and would let her know when I could bring the truck back in. This concluded the call.

About two weeks later I received a call from a manager, I believe he said he said he was the assistant General Manager at Turnpike, Chevrolet. It was obvious from the start of the conversation that he was upset because I had marked something negatively on the previoulsly submitted survey. The guy was actually rude . I again explained to him that I had no intentions of discrediting the Turnpike Service Department and had documented same in the comments sections of the survey. Eventually his attitude got to the point that I responded for him not to call me and jump my *** because GM sold me a vehicle that his service department could not repair. He responded that it was bad for his service department's moral getting such surveys. I responded it was bad for my moral to be driving down the road shaking in my new truck. While I felt this was probably not the best way to treat a customer, I realize, now, that apparently anything negatively marked on the GM Survey is a big issue,I thought about writing a note to GM complaining about the two conversations that I had with the Turnpike Employees but decided not to because, as I had stated earlier, they have always been a great place to have my vehilces serviced and hence decided not to make it an issue.

I later took my truck to Hurricane, Chevrolet and upon checking the vehcile into the service department, I explained to the Karl at the service desk tha Turnpike had been working on the truck and had replaced the tires. He immediately explained to me that if it was a tire issue then I would have to take it back to Turnpike for repairs. I left the truck there and picke it up later that day. I was told that they could not find anything wrong with the way the truck drove. I did not receive any documentation indicating they had serviced the vehicle or documenting they had found nothing wrong. However, MY VIBRATIONS STILL REMAIN only now when exiting the interstate I am getting vibrations when applying the brakes. I only have 7500 mile on the truck now and it should not need a break service at this point. I turly believe that Hurricane Chevrolet very little if not NO attempt to solve my issues after I told them that Turnpike had previoulsly worked on the truck.

Now back to Turnpike Chevrolet, a few weeks a go I scheduled an appointment to have my truck worked on but came down with the flu and had to cancel. I later called and talked with Keith, rescheduling for today.

Keith made the 3rd person from Turnpike that confronted me about the survey that I submitted. It was obvious that he was pissed because of my response on the survey and as I indicated above stated that I had "Trashed" the service department on my survey. He started to walk away and I responded just stand there and let me explain. So I again briefly explained that I had no intention of as he put it of "Trashing" the service department. His response was well you did by what you marked on the survey. He then walked away to get a vehicle and drive into the service department.

Now as I said this is the third person from Turnpike to "admonish" me over a Survey. I am not sure what the proceedures are that GM has in place regarding such matters, but for me as customer of GM, this is not an acceptable business practice. I picked up my keys, and advised Keith that I would "Trash" the service department on this survey and that I would not be back. He responded ok.

Actually, it is not my intention to "trash" anyone, especially a group of people that work everyday and up until this truck I have always been totally satisfied with the results of their work.

I do however believe that the way I have been treated over completing a survey is wrong and not a professional business practice. On top of that I am still paying 498.12 dollars per month for a new vehicle that has vibration issues . I am not sure what my next step is going to be. but I refuse to be treated like I have been treated over this issue without pointing it out to someone. I also am beginning to regret the purchase of a Chevrolet Silverado.

As I said earlier, My truck continues to have vibration issues.

Please advise,

Clifford E. Akers
(304) 476-9272

ps. If you cannot address this issue please forward this to someone in the General Motors Heirachy that can deal with this issue.
