Default 305 to 350 swap

I have a 97 Sierra K1500, it currently has a 305 but its pretty weak. Has anybody been involved in a 305 to 350 swap or know a good link? I would probobly swap out the trans too, the truck was used for towing so its pretty weak. Any info would be greatly appriciated.

Hi enrico_2006 and Phil M,

Welcome to the Chevy Forums.

There's a lot of stuff out there that should fit. You just have to look around.

305 to 350 is a straight across swap. same block, trans bolt pattern, everything. the only difference is the internals of the engine, which doesn't affect it bolting in at all.

Take the 305 out and put the 350 in and you are done. The computer will take care of the rest.

Thank you sir!
If its a automatic, I would keep the 700 tranny. It has a lower 1st gear. It will get you out of the hole quicker, and will give you better gas mileage with the overdrive.
