Question Add oil

I have to constantly add oil to my 2007 Silverado. I have never had to add oil between oil changes (86, 90, 94, and 98 Silverados) but do now 2-3 times between oil changes. I added 1/2 qt Friday, drove 250 miles and have light on Monday. Is there a problem or is this normal with a hotter running engine?
I change my own oil and use synthetic 5-20. Would a heavier oil help?

Well it is going somewhere. No that oil should be (IMHO) what the engine oil cap callso for -5-20 or whatever. Is there any issues with external leaks, and check the radiator for oil, also is it smoking out the tailpipes?

Assuming you have a 5.3 they are known to use a little bit of oil but this seems to be a bit excessive....

That seems like it is a little excessive. There are no leaks that you are aware of? Any puddles in your driveway? Have you had this checked out, yet? I would definitely. Let us know what else you find out.

I did check drive, no oil. Also visual underside and no sticky places. Change my own oil so checked filter and plug, no leaks.
