Broken u-joint strap bolt......
1 bolt snapped inside rear yoke at pinion and of course the easyout snapped inside that I don't see how removal is possible at this point? Was thinking another yoke, in fact we couldn't get it to budge off the pinion. parts guy says to use a slide hammer which we rented 1 from him. Would r&r or all the poundin on yoke mess up any pinion tolerances/setup? Then I was thinking may be to have the 1 side of strap tack welded to yoke-quick/easy but pain if and when that joint fails again. what do you think? TIA!

i'v learned to NEVER use a easy out... i snapped a bolt taking off the thermostat housing in a 88 trans am..used a easy out and snapped it in there too lol.. HORRIBLE!.. oh and you cant drill them out.. i'v tried for 3 days straight.. i would tack it.. but thats just me.. maybe somebody else can answer and you can actually get the bolt out

You need to use a 2 jaw puller to remove the yoke.

md tahoe is correct. when you get yoke off you can either replace it, or take it to a machine shop and get them to carbide it out with an endmill and pick the threads. It will be good as new. I work at one, so I am not just telling you bs.
