K1500 Coolant Conundrum, what do do?
Hi all,
I just picked up a 1997 Chevy K1500 with the 5.7 in it. Went to flush the cooling system since it was a bit low and found that it has green coolant in it, despite the fact the cap says Dex Cool only!
So, I'm in a dilemma...should I stay with the green? Will it cause issues since GM is pretty adamant that DexCool should only be used? Or should I take the time to flush it and worry about some trace of the green being left when I switch to DexCool?
Would be glad to hear from anyone with any experience on this topic. Not sure what to do.
Nathan

Whatever you do, just PLEASE choose one type and stick with it. It is an 'either/or' situation....but you don't want to use both types mixed together.
