Default New Rear end

Hey, guys.. So I got a restored '84 Silverado, with the typical 10 bolt, 6 lug rear end with 3.73 gears. The previous owner welded the gears to make it a posi, and we all know what eventually happens there.. Yeah, so my rear end pretty much chewed it self up ounce those welds gave out, and now I'm having a real problem just finding another differential to put in from any junkyards.. With that said, I figured I would rather upgrade my ****, then spend all this money for new insides yeah know... So I was wondering what is a good, cheaper upgrade I could do that is something that is durable and that can handle high horsepower, maybe like 400 HP range??

Same six lug bolt pattern?

I would think you could keep an eye on your local Craigslist and find a whole rear axle from someone parting out their truck.
For pretty cheap.

Yeah, but I hear that the stock 10 bolts aren't a very strong rear end.. And I was kinda looking at a locking differential know, and maybe a manual locking one, but those seem to be harder to find..

twin Dana 60's or a 14 bolt rear and Dana 60 front. Or you could go with a Dana 44 front if you're not running huge tires. All 8 lug...
