Default transfer case to tranny adapter probs?????

I got a 1997 chevy k1500 350ci truck and the transmission went out in it a week ago.

Well i got another tranny for the truck from a 98 k1500 my friend rolled and i bought for parts.

Both trannys are 4L60e transmissions and i got mine dropped off of the truck and the two trannys i got are a weeee bit differnt in bolt paterns.

the tranny bolts to the engine the exact same way but has a differnt dust cover which i have the 98s i can put on it that problem should be solved.

My question here is the transfer case for my 97 has 4 bolts to the old transmission. But the new transmission requires a 6 bolt mount. If i take the adapter off of my 97 transfer case and swap it with the 98s would it work? Or should i put the 98s transfer case on my truck?

thank you
