Default 05 keyless entry

I bought my 05 1500 crew cab used and did not opt to pay the extra fee they wanted to charge for the alarm system, so the dealer took my keyless entry remote from the keychain and also took some kinda box or something from underneath the driver seat. My question is what do I need to get the keyless entry/alarm back? Do I just need the remote or did they remove some kind of control box too? My truck has the glovebox code for the keyless entry option. Thanks for any input.

I assume the alarm system was like a Low-Jack or something to require an extra fee and to be optional. You should still be able to get a remote through GM and will more than likely have to give up some info on the truck to get the correct variable for it to work. Don't know where you would get that info from though. Hopefully someone else will chime in. You should still have the factory alarm/panic button when you get a remote. Check with some of your local parts houses before going to GM and maybe save some bucks. Since your truck is relatively new it should be an easy find. Good Luck!
