12 volt plug inop
other day was using a 12 volt compressor to air up tire it blew a fuse but all my fuses are good in the cab and under hood. I have a 2007 chevy classic 4dr 4wd the interior fuse box is located on the side of dash against driver door under hood one is located south of battery heading twds fire wall. any other fuses or relay that allow power to 12 power plug my cig lighter still works
First 12 volt power outlet went out, it would stop working for while them would work again, then go bad etc finally its dead for good, i cant find one online and when i call dealership they dont understand what im asking for. ive heard it takes special tool to remove and install these its a 07 classic silverado LS with middle seat in front, also few days ago my cig lighter went out i dont smoke but comes in handy powering my CB radio and lights for fire dept, fuses are all good tested visual and test light, gotta remove componet to replace is special tool required to remove these
the socket removal tool makes it a 10 second job. without it you will have to remove some trim panels to get access behind the lighter socket.
it would be a good idea to remove the connector to the socket and check for battery voltage there. if you have battery voltage, the socket is probably bad.
