Default 1982 c10 carb

the carb on my c10 deserves a rebuild... everything on it is stock, "i think including the carb"

these are the numbers off of it

17082526
3341"1"dwd

ITS A 4 BARRELL

***there may be only a single 1 but there is a mark that may be from stamping or an actual 1*after 41 but before "dwd"

my question is about rebuilding them... my uncle passed away 9/23/09, he had a guy rebuild all of his carbs casue he considered him a CARB PRO and thats all this guy does......

im debating on whether to rebuild it my self or have him do it......

i dont have a clue on any "rule of thumb" for the needle adjustments, maybe someone can help me out ?!?!?

all in all it will cost $65-70 "including the kit"
"HE ALSO MADE OUR 26 FT SLEEKCRAFT SIP ON FUEL"
SO HE DOES KNOW HIS STUFF

have the other guy do it. improperly tuned/rebuilt q-jet carbs will run like crap. but a properly tuned/rebuilt one will outperform most. there are tricks to a q-jet that a pro will know. usually the cost is pretty cheap, well worth it.

Default thanks budd :)

pretty much my opinion in the matter...

building carbs is all this guy does, and being hes retired, he does about 7 carbs a day

as said, he made a 2 ton boat sip on fuel he knows something

(whats $70 for our pride and joys )

I don't know much about carbs. But from what I've seen and read, the Quadrajet is awesome, if you know how to tune it, and if you by the correct real build kit. They seem to be highly underrated, because people don't know how to tune them...

So I've read.
