Exclamation 1989 Chevy k2500 won't start after running out of gas

I went to the beach filled my tank. Came 1/2 way back went to the casino. Came back out and it didn't start and still won't start. I've changed my fuel filter. I have changed my distributor cap. I have changed my fuel relay. I have checked my fuel fuse. It is good. I have changed my ecm. I have no idea what else it could be. My fuel pump is working.. I think it buzzes when I turn the key. Any ideas?

Don't just go by hearing the fuel pump buzz, do a fuel pressure check. Running the tank low of fuel is bad for the fuel pump. If you do it a lot then you are asking for trouble.

This is a TBI, correct? Do you see fuel being sprayed in the TBI when trying to start it? Spray a bit of starter fluid into the TBI and try to start it.

I swapped my fuel pump but a new issue has come up now my fuel pump isn't getting power. The fuel pump I used was from my old 91 Chevy k1500. It works. I checked the fuse nothing happened I swapped the relay. I'm totally lost now

Check the ground on the frame by the fuel tank. They tend to get rusty and loose connection.

My next move would be to jump a power and ground directly to the fuel pump wiring. If it still doesn't run you know the problem is the pump or the sending unit wiring.

If it does run your losing power somewhere before the sending unit. Use a test light or multimeter to test from the fuse all the way back.

I was thinking that some models have a fuse in the cab and on the firewall. May be something to check for.
