Default 1993 K1500 5.7L 4L60E transmission problems

Hello all
I have some problems and was wondering if someone can maybe help me. My transmission is having problems. Im going to try and explain this the best as i can. I hear a weird noise in 2nd gear, slip/grind noise. This noise only happens in 2nd. If i put the truck in {R} reverse it works perfect. Put the truck in [D]Dover driver it works perfect unless shifts to 2nd gear. Put the truck in {d} drive it works perfect unless it shifts to second. If i put the truck in {1} the truck drives perfect. But if i go right to {2} 2nd gear the truck do not want to move and when u do get it to move you hear a grind like metal on metal noise coming from the transmission. I dont know if it can be the 1-2 solenoid not pushing enough fluid to run 2nd, If the sun shell is gone. or if the planetary gear is gone. I am going to do the rebuild myself but i want some input before i tear it apart to see what exactly it could be. and if i dont have to tear it apart i would like that even better. Please give me some ideas what it can be and if you think it needs to be rebuilt or not.

Yep,

Go no further and pull 'er down outta there.

You're gonna find the problem in the reverse input drum. What its' doing is trying to run in two gears at once and something's gotta give. That "give" is your grinding noise.

the speedometer does not read correctly on my 1993 Blazer Silverado 5.7 4x4 and the trans does not shift right. Is the transmission controlled by the ECM?

Welcome to the forum from Oregon.

Are you sure that is a 4L60E? Does it have RPO code M30 on the glove box cover? Is it maybe a 700R4? I could be off by a few years though.

I am still not understanding your answer. Do you have the M30 RPO code or not? Was the original trans a 700R4 or the 4L60E?
