hey guy, wondering if any of you have done this..... need a little help getting my engine ready
I am pulling a 350 from an 88/89 suburban, and placing it into my 1994 k1500 Silverado, I am curious as to what I can leave the same for xternal hardware ( if any) such as the multiple belts running the smog pump (don't need anyhow) and the alternator.. water pump etc... or if I should just take everything off and place the parts from my 1994 on the engine.... any help would be appreciated

 

I would keep everything how it is on the 89 motor you plan on putting in, I would make sure all your connections plug in, ex: like your alternator, but if all those are the same then I would say jam that sucker in there.

If the 94 parts directly swap over then awesome, but don't change them, just keep those as spare parts for your 89 motor.

you have a TBI engine and a Vortec engine... different computer sensors and such... tried it but ran into so many issues it turned out to be a nightmare although it worked... crank sensor, timing chain, and such. it can be done... but is it worth it

i used an 87 tbi and went into 96ish silverado
