1996 1500 Grinding noise in front end
I have a 96 K1500 and it is making a noise that almost sounds like a wire brush on metal sound. not popping or rubbing but like a "whish whish" sound that increases with speed. it doesn't seem to be in sync with actual tire rotation so i'm wondering if it is the hub. there is no tire play and i cannot reproduce the noise on a stand. CV axle has recently been replaced also.
any help??

did you replace the CV axle yourself? Its possible the axle nut got overtorqued binding up the bearings. Also check front diff fluid and the brake dust shields, could have gotten bent during the axle install.
