1998 2500 5.7L Vortec runs for 2 seconds
Thanks for the help in advance. The truck has been sitting for about 5 years. At first the truck didn't start due to fuel system issues, and I've done the following work:
1) New fuel pump
2) New fuel filter
3) New pressure regulator
4) New fuel tank
5) New injection spider
6) New MAF and MAP
7) New air filter
The fuel system hits 60psi initially but bleeds off to 56psi about 5 minutes after the engine stops running. After all this, the truck starts and runs for about 2 seconds, then quits. OBD II reader shows no codes. I'm not sure where to go from here, anyone out there seen anything like this before?
I have a 1996 2500 5.7L Vortec donor truck with a running engine that has rod knock.
Thanks!

could it be the oil pressure switch that controls power to the fuel pump once the oil pressure comes up, on my 97 burb theres a black female connector rear of the relay/fuse box in the engine bay that if you apply power to the fuel pump runs all the time might help in trouble shooting i would think the truck is the same

It sounds like a Passlock issue. What does the SECURITY indicator in the I/P cluster do after the engine cuts out with the key still in RUN?
