Default 87 suburban - runs for 5-10 seconds and dies

I was driving down a dirt road on a rainy day and ran through a puddle that was a little too big. It died after going through it. I got it to fire again, but it died quickly after. I had it towed back to the house and let it dry for 2 days. Now i can get it to fire and idle (although poorly) but it dies 5 - 10 seconds later. just dies. no throttle response, its like someone turned the key off. I checked the distributer for water - dry as a bone. everything else seems to be in order...

any help is appreciated.... i gotta use this thing to move into my new house this weekend.

Check air filter, may have ingested some water.

took off the air filter to find a little bit of wetness on the filter itself, but no standing moisture on the throttle blades the air filter housing was wet, but any water that had gotten in would be pushed out after being cranked up and ran even for a few seconds, no?

So, I took the air cleaner off and watched it when it died. The fuel cuts off. I just replaced fuel sending unit/fuel pump and the fuel filter. What could make it stop getting fuel like that?

If you used a non-OEM part, the new one could be bad. Is it a TBI system?

I replaced it a few months ago... Worked fine up until the puddle. It's the oem Delphi part. And yes - TBI system.
