1998 3500 350 vortex engine
First disconnect the battery.Drain the radiator then disconnect all the wires and hoses. label them so you know where they go back. Next bring the engine to TDC compression ,mark the distributor and remove it as well. Disconnect the fuel lines and anything else that is in the way, any remaining water hoses.
If I were you I would first go to Auto Zone or a similar parts store and invest in a service manual. About $25 and it's a step by step on all those procedures.
Also be ready to clean everything, gasket surfaces and such before reassembly. I like to use Feltpro professional grade gaskets. They seal up very well. Otyher than normal hand tools and sockete you will need a torque wrench.
Good Luck
