1998 Starting problems DOWN HILL
Replaced fuel pump last week; it needed it! Seemed to solve all starting and running problems.Plenty of power, easy starting, etc...
Last sat. I parked it on a hill, over night, with the truck pointed up hill; next morning it wouldn't start. It would try but immediately die.Took my tractor and pulled it to level ground and it started and ran fine ever since.Needless to say I haven't parked it that way over night since.
I thought there was a check valve in fuel pump that would not allow fuel to run back to tank and keeping injection system primed. Is this valve located some where else in the system and is this my problem?
Thanks Charlie

the problem isnt the fuel pump. it is your fuel sending unit. You only replaced the pump and not the sieve that draws fuel to the pump. So on an incline, the fuel goes to the farthest part of the tank and the sieve is positioned in that area to ensure you always have fuel delivery on an incline, if the tank isnt full. drop the tank and replace the sieve and put in the same way as you took it out.
