i was wondering if there is another way of checking the check engine code w/o using a scanner ? lmk if there is and the way u do it thanks

i know in my 88 trans am you could stick a paper clip in the lil part where u stick the scanner on.. and it would flash the check engine light.. but it was a PITA.. lol doubt you can do it with a newer truck/car

the obd2 systems cannot be checked with a paper clip like the older obd systems. it will fry the computer.

figured they did something to the new 1's where u cant do it like that lol. cant autozone do it for free? just go there. way easier then trying to rig up something that MIGHT work..yanno?

yep. autozones will scan for ya for free. even some of the oreilly will too
