Default 2-3 Shift flare when cold 4l60e

I was wondering if someone could help me out.

I have a 2003 Chevy silverado with the 4L60E i bought in July of last year and am still making payments on. I have been afraid to drive my truck since the 2-3 shift flare suddenly reared its ugly head, and i am pretty sure im in need of a rebuild, (shops here asking 2K even if i pull it) however i need a few suggestions on what i can check.

Mileage: 130K miles, 3K hours on motor and tranny, all interstate miles.

Trans fluid is a nice clean red, no smell whatsoever and trans does not leak a drop.

No CEL or DIC warnings.

Only happens when truck is cold. when it warms up its fine.

Tranny flares at Half or WOT throttle when cold. shifts firm if i ease into it, and once it warms up its perfect again. I reset the PCM and took it on a trip and it still shifts horrible. Fluid is full, and i believe is the original fluid, i was told however changing the filter and fluid will not solve or fix my problem, instead it will destroy my trans.

its a 300RPM flare. if i manually upshift with the PRNDL from 1st to 3rd its perfectly fine, acts normal and shifts like its supposed to, even when freezing. flare also goes away in towhaul, and still shifs firm. I was told my band is burned up, but if it was burned wouldnt my fluid reek? ive burned up a transmission before and it stunk and never ran right.. never has something like this happened from the blue.

Also i thought about cleaning my MAF but my motor runs fine so ill assume its fine.

thanks

130K miles.

oh and i took the truck to town, a 300 mile drive today, it did not flare ONCE. the tranny shifted glass smooth and when i floored it on the interstate all the shifts were smooth. everything is perfect when its warm...

I would replace and reseal the forward, 1-2 and 2-3 accumulators.
