2 questions for 2001 chevy 2500 HD gas

2 questions for 2001 chevy 2500 HD gas
Ok finally went to chevy. Always been a dadge guy. 2 quick questions,
one, i was wondering about how much it would cost to install all the break lines. Its a regular cab long bed. Approx will work. Not looking for a exact, i know everyones different.
Two, i was driving and turned the heat on to defrost the window. After that i went to turn the heat back to a little cooler. It was stuck on hot. The air will chhange directions from floor to defrost and all other areas. The only problem is that its stuck on hot. What could i check to try and diagnose the problem.
O and one more thing. Its an automatic. ive always owned manual trans. How often should i change the trans oil? i do pull often.
