2 questions???
Is there only one fuel filter? The one on the frame? And has anyone undercoated there truck and if so how did they prep it and what did they use any help is appreciated!!!!

on my 89 silverado i have the fuel filter you said and i put one in front of the manuel fual pump "cause of the '67 283" so as far as filters NO but i think there is a fuel strainer in the tank...

Are you talking about undercoating the whole underside of the truck or are you just going to do the frame. If you are just going to do the frame all i would do is sand it a little bit to get the rust off and scuff it up a little so the paint will stick better and then just spray it with a rattle can of gloss black paint

There is a pre-pump strainer to keep large particles from being sucked into the pump.
You can paint the frame, but since you are in the Northern part of the country, I suggest a rubberized undercoating. Its tougher and will not peel if theres intensifying rust under it.
Just clean it spotless removing the road grime and factory coating (if applicable), rough it up, use a rust converter to kill any rust, and then spray on the undercoating.

THANK EVANS BLUE!!! it has a lot of rust just service frame is still solid but whhere do you get this rust convertor? what is the best way to get rust off w/out a sand blaster(wish i had one)? thanks guys

your local auto parts store should have a rust converter, its an areosol can, usually in the solvents isle. as far as rust removal, I use a 4 inch angle grinder with a flapper wheel. takes it down to bare metal pretty quick. as always be sure to use your protective gear. keep a good grip on that grinder too, i have a nasty scar on my arm from one getting away from me.
