Default 20" Rims?

I have a 09' Silverado 2wd 1500 Crewcab. The color is Burgundy and I've been thinking about getting new rims to replace the stock ones. I originally wanted to get 24" KMC slide (black) but I've heard that 24s and 22s are rough on shocks/brakes and the tires for them don't last as long. It certainly doesn't sound like something I want to spend money frequently to keep it in good shape. So I was wondering if I can pull it off with 20s and still look good on my truck? I'm afraid they might look too small, so I don't know. Any suggestion or are there anyone in here with pictures of their silverado with 20s?

Are you planning to drop it any? Or drop the back end to level it with the front?

I'd do 22s, but not any bigger. And really it depends on the tire size

I ran 22" on my old 2000 Tahoe Limited. I did not notice any difference in brake wear. I never had to replace any suspension parts. The tires lasted about 25k-30k. The ride defiantly was stiff. On my current Tahoe I went with 20" wheels just to have a better ride. My first set on tires lasted 30k-35k. I can tell you though that my second set of tires are wearing much better (better quality tire than 1st) and I expect to get at least 60k.

Nope, not a fan of lowered trucks. I was actually going to have the front end lifted to match the back end. But with the 20's if I don't get 24s or 22s, I'm not sure.

Are the tires on your 20s bigger than the ones you had on your 22s on the old tahoe?

It all depends on the offset of the wheels and accurate tire size. My truck has 24s with no rub or loss in ride quality. As you go up in wheel size you go shorter on the sidwall of the tire. Good tires are made with reinforced sidwalls to hold the weight and strain for a truck. I wouldnt go muddin' with them but I tow and do every function I bought the truck for.
