Good Afternoon all. I recently replaced the transmission in my truck which required removal of negative battery cable. Upon completion and reconnecting the battery cable all went well except for the fact that when ever I lock the doors and set the (factory) alarm using the key fob the alarm (horn) goes crazy. I've never heard of this nor have I ever seen this happen. If anyone has ideas I sure would appresh...

I had an 01 Oldsmobile we called HAL because everytime I approached the car the alarm went off. Many times even while I was in the car with the keys in the ignition. My theory was the car just didn't like me, because nobody else ever set the alarm off. People started calling me "Dave". (from "2001-A Space Odessy") Just a little weird.

 

first off, rivereye, your panic button was probably stuck down on the key fob! So whenever you got within range of the car...honk! honk!

Jslade, sounds like you have a similar issue, but your button is releasing over time. Your lock buton is probably getting stuck down inside the fob when you press the lock button

 

hello everybody, my 04 Silverado doors start locking unlocking while driving down the road they just go crazy also its alarming passenger door ajar and ding dinging me out of the truck, no doors are ajar, and when i use key fob to set alarm nothing happens , any ideas would be very apreciated. thank you
