Default 2006 silverado climate control problems

Hi Newby here. I'm having problems with my dual climate control unit. This is not a digital one. It has power to the blower portion but has no power to anything else. The vent selector,ac,temp and read defrog do not work. I checked all the fuses and they appear to be good. I purchased another control unit and It has the same problem. any sugestions

Welcome to the forum...

When you say checked all the fuses, did you pull them and ohm them out of just look at them while still socketed ? Fuses can be deceiving... Also if you remove the HVAC fuse there is a relearn process that has to be formed, otherwise the system will not work correctly...

yes i pulled them but did not ohm them. I have some new fuses I will replace it. I did not think I needed to relearn it because it is not a digital one its a manual one. What is the process for that please.

Service Information
2006 Chevrolet Chevy C Silverado - 2WD | Sierra, Silverado (VIN C/K) Service Manual | HVAC | HVAC Systems - Manual | Diagnostic Information and Procedures

Important: Do not adjust any controls on the HVAC control module while the HVAC control module is self-calibrating. If interrupted, improper HVAC performance will result.

Alternate Method (w/o Scan Tool)
  1. Clear all DTCs.
  2. Place the ignition switch to the OFF position.
  3. Install the HVAC actuator.
  4. Connect all previously disconnected components.
  5. Remove the HVAC/ECAS fuse for a minimum of 10 seconds.
  6. Install the HVAC/ECAS fuse.
  7. Start the vehicle.
  8. Wait 40 seconds for the HVAC control module to self-calibrate.
  9. Verify that no DTCs have set as current DTCs.

So for clarification, you can turn the blower on/off and adj speed but no other functions work?

When you replaced the fuses and did the learn procedure did you hear any of the actuator doors moving?

yes the blower turns on and functions properly. After replacing fuses and doing the relearn process i did not hear anything moving. There is no power light coming on in the ac and rear defrog buttons also.
