Hello,

No don't chastise me if this is a repeat post, but i have a 2007 Chevy Silverado 2500 HD LT. When i start the truck up, take off and drive normally, i try to engage in the cruise control. With the light on, on the steering wheel, i press the set button and the cruise control doesn't engage. (Try driving from Florida to Ohio without cruise control)

Now where the weird part starts is when i press on the brake for a brief second and release. The computer shows a "Service Trailer Braking System" Once it shows that then cruise control works just dandy. I brought it to the local show to see if it would throw a code and it came back clean with no codes.

If anyone has some sort of input id appreciate it. I'm not about to spend $200+ just to find out whats wrong then pay extra just to fix it.

Welcome to the forum...
for S's and G's I'd check the brake peddle switch(s) the cruise won't engage if it thinks the brakes are being applied...

 

Would also fix the issue of the trailer brake system?
