Default How to add trailer break control to new 1500 ?

I just got a 2009 with a tow package. It does not come with an electronic break control for the trailer, so I must add one. What is the best way to do that? I assume the truck is already wired - just want to know how to do a tap in to establish a linkage between my electronic break control and the trailer plug on the bumper without having to run a whole bunch of new wires.

just buy a controller and adapter, there should be a place under the dash to plug it in, the hardest thing about putting in a controller in a new truck nowadays is finding a good spot for it

They used to come with a wiring harness, but now it is already equipped with all the wiring, you just need to connect it.

I'm hearing that all I need is to plug in an adapter and connect the electric break to it. Probably that simple, but where do I get the adapter to plug in ?
