Default 4L80E problems Code P0894 Transmission Component Slipping

I apologize if I'm in the wrong Forum. I have a 2006 GMC Sierra 2500 HD extended cab 4x4 it had the engine light come on then shifted a bit hard from 1-2 gear last week but nothing severe and then yesterday the temperature went into the red and a warning on the dash of high transmission temperature. I've sprayed out the rad and coolers , I checked the transmission oil level and its O.K. and pink/red with no smell of burning oil(running Amsoil ATF) but there is a leak of ATF which seems to be where the tranny and transfer case join. I haven't checked that level but was told by a neighbor who checked and cleared the P0894 code its my seals between the tranny and transfer case and the transfer case is very likely low causing this issue. Its a transmission code of "Transmission Component Slipping" and was wondering if anyone might be me more in-tuned with this as I've never had this before. I have 180,000 miles and the entire transmission and coolers as well as the transfer case flushed and new Amsoil ATF installed about 1-2 years ago.
