77 Chevy not starting
My truck will not start. I had some issues with the starter so I replaced that and it ran just fine for about a week, now it will not start. I have checked the battery and alternator and both are just fine. The only puzzling thing that I can't figure out is with a test light I get no charge through my positive battery terminal and I get a charge out of my negative terminal, I think this is backwards am I correct? Any ideas would help. Thanks
With a test light light you get a light with one probe from the light to the positive of the battery and the other to ground. You get no light from negative battery terminal and the other to ground. It is impossible to get it the other way around!
That is exactly what I thought, but I am getting the opposite. If I ground the light and then touch the negative terminal, the light turns on. If I use the same ground and touch the positive terminal, nothing.
