94 Silverado key switch problem
I have a 94 Silverado that won't turn all the way to the start position. It has been jamming up occasionally for a couple of months. I just tapped it a few times to free it. Now, that doesn't work. My question, do I have to remove the steering wheel to replace the key switch part?
Are there any easier options?
Thanks!!
Mike

In most of the latter GMT 400 platform (General Motors Truck 88-98) yes, the wheel and clock springs had to be removed to access the screws that hold the ignition and ignition lock cylinder in place. They are torx screws too. and no, I am unaware of any easier way to swap out the lock cylinder.
I appreciate the response. If I chose to put a starter switch on the dash and just use the key in the run position, do you know which wires under the dash that I would use? Thanks. I don't have a lot of cash for both a switch and the tools to pull the wheel. Thanks again.
