Default '95 K1500 4X4 and rear problems

Hey,

I have a '95 K1500, V6, 5 speed.

First problem...
The truck wont go into 4x4. I have the floor lever. I pull the lever back all the way and rock the truck and drive around a little but still nothing works. The light on the panel doesn't light up either. It seems like its out of adjustment, is there any way to adjust this? It's always been hard to get into 4wd for some reason. Also, I believe there is a small motor on the front rear that engages that could also be shorting out?

Second problem...
Recently, the truck has had the habit of locking up the left rear wheel when I try to back up. It's hit or miss, it only happened 3 times over the last month but it's really annoying and it's probably not a good thing. I'm either thinking the drum brakes are making it stick or else maybe one of the gears in the rear are possibly chipped. It only happens in reverse and it's always the left rear. It'll drag for a while and then it'll break free.

Thanks for any help!

Jim.

#1 check fuses and connectors first

#2 take a good look at your rear brakes sounds like something is not right with hardware or ebrake system

good luck, steve
