Default 96 Silverado Need help with 4.3L Engine Mount Change

I own an 01 Silverado with the 5.3 L and am looking at getting a 96 Silverado (C1500) with the 4.3L. The engine mounts need changing according to the owner. I do not have the Haynes manual and need assistance on the steps needed to change the mounts.

The owner stated that he thought I could lift the engine, detach the coil springs, and remove the mounts.

Anybody have the steps on changing the mounts?

Thanks,
Jeff

disconnect the motor mount bolts, jack the block up with a wooden block on the floor jack right under the oil pan or crank pulley and then reach in and remove mount bolts left and right, 2 on each mount.

Space will be tight unless you also remove the trans. crossmember mount.

Thanks for the information on the mounts. Another problem is cylinder 1 is fouling. Compression reading is 150 max. using about 1/2 quart per 400 miles. Any quick and dirty fixes on this without replacing engine?

Just got back from doing a compression check on no. 1 cylinder. This is the one that he owner states that once a year he has to change a fouled plug. I pulled the plug and it was crushed white on the electrode. Anyway the compression came back at 150. It started leaking down slowly from 150.

Is 150 ok for a truck with 280000 miles and does it point more to valve seals?
