Default 98 k1500.5.7 ecm (i think its a aqua truck)

i seem to think my p/u got dropped into the lake or a flood truck !! so my question is can the ecm be dried out and work correctly ?i am getting the feeling that it was never replaced, i have wired in a master cutoff switch to the fuse box under the hood due to battery draining -- i have basicly checked EVERY connection in this thing . dome light stays on until you turn on headlights (go figure that one out) headlight switch is new !! replaced both heater control motors - heater switch, i could go on,on,on, also can i put ecm from same year truck & eng WITHOUT going to dealer to have programmed ? one elect NIGHTMARE !!!!!
