Truck was just quiting this spring after gauges spiked & dropped, successful with jumping a couple times but wouldn't keep running so coasted into friends driveway. Replaced battery as not to offend a helpers advice but wasn't sold on that as the issue.
Continued to have issues where it would start after it sat a bit. Conked out another time while driving so brother in law removed alternator & tested ok cold then ran again when put back in. After mutiple quits, sit & restarts & battery finally lost all charge, towed & aternator replaced.
After running pretty well for a couple months it sputtered out while idling after 30 mi trip, left it & started next day ran fine (at least 100 mi RT & mult stops & starts. Quit & ran after it sat some 2 more times yesterday.
Any thoughts?
Mechanic metioned fuel pump but just doesn't seem right to me but I'm a single mom w/o a lot of knowledge.
Please advise
