My friend Dave asked me a serious question last monday, he wanted to get rid of the weak 4speed 700R4 trans he has and swap it with another 6 speed automatic that could get better gas mileage and towing capabilities. His truck has the 454 motor on it and is a 4x4 dually.

I've researched on the internet for a few days now and havent found any good leads. any of y'all know? please be specific with the transmission. thanks

first off people dont like helping impatient people that make random insults, second this would be a completely trial and error project so unless someone has actually done it theres a slim chance anyones going to know a 100% dead on answer. Also you seem to be lacking in knowledge to be making many comments as that pickup would not have a 700r4 in it, id assume it has a 4l80e maybe 4l60e
