Default high transmission pressure 3500 6.0l

hi everyone.

im looking at a 2005 chevy 3500 6.0l express cargo van. it has a check engine light on for high transmission pressure. the owner says its never given him an issue. is this something to run away from? or should i spend the money on having a mechanic look at it? thank you all very much. cheers

Are the shifts hard or appear normal?

transmission filter leak/high trans pressure - SaturnFans.com Forums

Re: transmission filter leak/high trans pressure
<hr style="color: rgb(51, 51, 51);" size="1"> You may have to have a pressure test done, the only time I've seen the transaxle oil filter seals blow out and leak was when the pressure regulator spring broke in the valvebody causing the pressure to go high.

Sorry, never seen the error on any car I've had.
I suggest you do some more research on transmission line high pressure.
Not sure your chances of finding someone else on here with that same issue.
Might be best to have a dealership examine it.
This could be of course the reason the guy is selling it. Doesn't want it to be his problem.

the trans will enter failsafe if something is slipping...and then raise line pressure. I'd stay away as your probably into a rebuild.

If you can get a price that can cover a rebuild, it may be worth it.

my 06 2500 p/u 4l80E did the same thing and had a broken snap ring land in the 4th clutch housing.
if your in there for a rebuild, there is a tsb to modify the valve body to prevent high line pressure in reverse...make sure it gets done.
