Default abs brake issue: 05 silverado

ABS activates under 10 mph. No ABS light (Code: left ft. brake sensor.) Ran the gamete" cleaned sensor seat, chassis grounds by OBCM and finally replaced Ft. bearing assy. Problem still exists. Unplugged left ft. ABS sensor, (for "safety") problem gone. I'm 60 yrs. old! remember no seat belts or abs. Bias ply tires, steel bumpers, drum brakes, single cyl. master brake cyls. and the speed limit was 70 mph.! Enough of that, I still would like to get the abs system to work. Doe's anyone have any thoughts? Could it be the obcm?

you are getting a false abs activation.

if the abs light is on there must be code set in the ebcm. unplugging a speed sensor will turn the abs light on, set a dtc and disable the system.

Thank you for your reply tech2. If I'm getting a false abs activation what could possibly cause it?. The computer threw a code to indicate left ft. wheel sensor but my abs light has never come on,...... well.... not until I unplugged the wheel sensor.

the code will be set in the ebcm not the pcm. you will need a full function scan tool to read abs dtc.

find out what the code was before you disconnected the abs harness.
