Default Add Cruise to 2004 2500HD

New user to the forum.

I just picked up a 2004 2500HD without cruise and I would like to add it. I seem to remember hearing something about longer wires being needed for units on the 2004 and up pickups. Is this right? or can I pull a unit off a 2003 and it work without any alteration? Thanks

I have a 2003 HD that didn't come with cruise and I too would like to add it. My combo turn signal switch is giving me problems so I've been try to research adding cruise. I've read about adding in the 4 required wires but it didn't specify what years needed the wires (just 03-06 in general). ARe you saying that the 2003 is just a simple plug in combo switch swap? That'd be great, if you can, let me know what info you have. Thanks in advance.

I got a junkyard cruise/wiper switch from an '03 Silverado. Pulled my dash cover and steering housing cover and found the 4-pin plug receptor already installed as part of the factory harness. No cutting or soldering needed. Just plugged everything back in and I has cruise. Took about 30 minutes from start to finish. Ended up being a LOT easier than I was told.

If it's only 1/2 hour's work, I'll pull my covers to see if the 4 pin connector is there. Thanks for your help.

I installed my new switch in a snap. My cruise work perfectly, I didn't even know that there was a cruise indicator light on my dash panel until I activated it. Thanks for the info.

Good going. It's like getting an unexpected gift when you find that receiver plug and it all works flawlessly.
