Default Air conditioner

Hey guys
This is my first post to this forum. I'm having problems with my 97 Chevy truck. The compressor for the A/C will not engage. I've checked the freon pressure and it is OK(thinking the low pressure switch was keeping it out). I've checked thetwo fuses that I know about and they look OK. Is there anything else that I'm missing?
Thanks

Well 1997 uses R-134A instead of the R-12 freon. You could try jumping the low pressure switch harness and see if that will cause it to engange. Sometimes the wire is worn out on the compressor or the clutch itself is faulty.

Thanks for the quick reply. I tried a jumper on the low pressure switch, but thecompressor clutchstill will not engage. I'm thinking a faulty clutch at this point. Is there a quick check for this?
Thanks
