i have the '03 2500HD with a 6.0L. I have been told by a few of my buddies that my truck has the allison transmission. is there anyone that can confirm these claimsor give me any ways to confirm this myself?

 

Look inside the glove box. On the inside of the door, there's a list of codes which tells you your vehicle's options. Here are the codes for the various transmisisons.

None of the 6.0L engines were built with an Allison transmission, your truck has the 4L80E.
Only the 8.1L (in Silverado and Seirra) and the 6.6L Duramax had the Allison.
