I was hoping to get opinions on what people thought was the best Chevy truck between 1973 and 1987 based on model and engine size? I am hoping to pick up and restore one once I have decided which I want.

 

The 87 silverado with a 350 motor and a 4 speed manual they have ***** and will run forever\

 

Would u recommend the k10 or k20 model

 

personally I wouldnt go with an 87, I would get a pre-86 as they will not have fuel injection. A friend of mine had an 86 with a FI 350 on it's second motor at 300,000miles but it developed mystery electronics problems. Replaced computer, injectors, distributor, coil, ect... and as soon as we fixed one problem another would pop up.

and If you plan on offroading/"mudding" get a K20

 

I had an 86 3/4 ton 4x4 with the 6.2 diesel, and 6 inch lift. Dana 44 front 14 bolt rear. Not the fastest but it went anywhere I pointed it. It was one tough truck Wish I could buy it back.
