I have a '97 C1500 pick-up, automatic transmission, 5.7 V8.

Some time ago, I started to have intermittent problems with my dash instruments, which occurred more often than not. Sometimes it wouldn't shift properly, sometimes the speedometer wouldn't read right, sometimes not at all, the odometer doesn't work at all........and then all of a sudden, everything would start working like normal.

I've replaced the instruments with another set from a junkyard version of my truck.....nothing. I've checked the fuses.....they're all good. I replaced the transmission (for an unrelated issue), and it seemed as though the situation had been resolved for a while afterwards, but then it was business as usual. I've asked some people who specialize in GM, and they think it may be an issue with the neutral safety switch. What do y'all think? I'd hate to start replacing parts that didn't need to be.
