Default Instruments stuck

I have about 102,500 miles on my 5.3 Tahoe Z-71 and experiencing some odd conditions. First the air conditioner belt broke after hearing a weird sound. I replaced the belt and idler thinking it was the idler being froze. The unit puts out plenty of cold air even after replacing the belt and idler. After replacing it still makes the weird vibration occasionally when the AC is working. When not in the AC mode, I experience no vibration or odd sounds. Now the speedometer, Tack, fuel and the rest of the instruments are stuck in the last speed I was driving. I tried disconnecting the battery and still the gauges read the same. Nothing resets. Also I cannot see the shift screen as it's totally dark. What should I do next. Thanks

No other work to the Air Conditioner other than the belt and idler. I checked the fuses and they are not blown. What is odd is the back light to the instrument is working other than the back light to the shift screen. All the gauges are stuck at what appears to be my last speed, fuel, temp, etc. When I insert the key.
