should i change my rear diff fluid? my trucks got 116k on it.... i know this on been on here befor... i think somebody said every 50k miles? last time i changed diff fluid..2 weeks later i broke a axel.......so... yes..no maybe... if i break this..just give me another ereason to put a 3/4 ton it in lol

 

I'd change it... I'm changing mine at 36k, then evry 36k give or take. Depending on how much is true highway, or city.

You don't have a Ford anymore.... The axle won't break.

well its a DD..not a weekend warrior lol.. (knock on my wood that nothing breaks) HAHA... also..is there some kind of seal where the ujoints hook up? it leaks/leaked outof the pumkin int he front... probably be a major PITA if there is..... RTV it ROFL..

 

its easy to change the rear fluid im sure as you have done before. rule of thumb. put back in what you take out. how bad is it leaking? and sounds like the seal might be going bad.

 

its actually not leaking.. but u can tell its leaked out and ran down the pumpkin doesnt look like its leaked enough out to actually drip on the ground.. thats why im not real worried about it....like i said.. ill gasket maker that sucker up LOL

 

I'm having a brainfart at the moment, but the seal at the front of the diff, is not to difficult to swap. I haven't done one since my Dana 70 in my old Ford.

 

same with mine. mine just might be seepage tho. hopefully no more rear end seepage will happen after my last rear end oil change. good luck davey. let us know if you break the gears back there lol

 

if i break gears im gettin a 3/4 ton 6 lug... lol anybody know if its 411 gears in those?

 

you wish. most were 3.73's, if not all. tho, you might look at the v6's. maybe.
